Surveyed Crown and Crown for Existing Removable Partial Dentures
The construction of crowns for abutments of removable partial dentures is different from that of crowns in general. The treatment plan and the abutment preparation must be considered in terms of the components and path of insertion of the removable partial denture. The more difficult aspect of surveyed crowns is the construction of the new crown for the existing removable partial denture. This article presents procedures to fabricate surveyed crowns and various techniques, direct and indirect, in fabricating crowns for existing removable partial dentures including potential errors and methods which save chair time.
