The Capability of Instrumentation of Oval Root Canal Wall Using Endo-Eze AET and ProFile

This study compared the capability of instrumentation in oval root canal wall after preparation by Endo-Eze AET and ProFile. Fifty-six distal root canals of human mandibular molars with oval shape were divided into two groups. Teeth were embedded in acrylic resin of muffle system. Cross-sections at 5 mm from the apices were assessed. The sections were scanned before instrumentation and were reassembled and then prepared with Endo-Eze AET in group 1 and ProFile in group 2. Each cross-section of instrumented canals were scanned and superim- posed over their uninstrumented counterparts. A grid system was used to evaluate the root canal wall instrumentation. Statistical analysis was performed using the Mann-Whitney U Test (P < 0.05). The result showed that the instrumented root canal walls of Endo-Eze AET were more than that of ProFile significantly. However, both types of instruments could not clean root canals completely.
