Treatment of Alveolar Bone Fracture with Uncomplicated Crown Fracture: Literature Review and A Case Report
A literature review of bone and tooth fracture from accident and the proper treatment. One case of 41 year old Thai woman is reported of the treatment for an alveolar bone fracture; uncomplicated crown fracture and tearing of soft tissue in oral cavity from an accident by suturing soft tissue, closed reduction of alveolar bone and restoration of crown fracture. Alveolar bones were splinted with wire composite splint from #13 to #23. The splint was fixed by acid etching, using light curing composite resin method. The stitches were stitched off 1 week later and the splint were removed 6 weeks later. The patient had no complications with normal bone healing, normal occlusion, vital tooth, no mobility of teeth, and no complaints. After one year follow up, there was no complications. The patient could keep the alveolar bone, and teeth from accident.
