An unerupted maxillary central incisor is not often found in routine dental practice. An absence maxillary incisor can have a major impact on aesthetics and lead to some functional problems, such as speech difficulties, in particular the‘s’ sound. It can greatly affect the confidence of the patient. The unerupted maxillary central incisor should be early detected, and the suitable treatment plan should be carried out. In this review, the causes, examination, diagnosis and management of the unerupted maxillary central incisor are described.
