Burning Mouth Syndrome: A Case Report and Literature Review
Burning mouth syndrome is characterized by burning sensations of the oral cavity usually in the absence of mucosal abnormality. This article presents a case of a 54-year-old female patient with a burning sensation in the tongue and palate. Clinical and laboratory evaluations revealed the absence of any clinical and laboratory abnormalities. The patient denied systemic diseases. She was treated with amitriptyline (25mg/day), obtaining a complete remission of symptoms after 2 months of treatment.
